Reformed rockers Smashing Pumpkins – led by legendary grump Billy Corgan (left) - are to sue their old record label Virgin for using their name illegally for promotional purposes.

The grunge veterans are claiming that the label’s use of the band in promotions for Pepsi and on the Amazon website in the US compromises their “artistic integrity”.
